Limaprost tablets are a prostaglandin E1 derivative primarily used to improve symptoms related to peripheral blood circulation disorders and spinal cord lesions. The indications are clear, and medication should pay attention to bleeding risks, liver function monitoring, and other matters. For special populations, individualized dosage adjustments are needed.

1. Indications

(1) Peripheral circulation disorders: suitable for ulcers, pain, and cold sensation symptoms caused by thromboangiitis obliterans, occlusive arteriosclerosis, and other conditions.

(2) Spinal cord lesions: used to improve neurological symptoms such as numbness and pain caused by cervical spondylosis, lumbar spinal stenosis, etc.

2. Medication precautions

(1) Bleeding risk: May prolong bleeding time, use with caution in perioperative patients or those with bleeding tendencies, and discontinue medication if necessary.

(2) Liver function monitoring: During treatment, regular liver function checks should be conducted, and any abnormalities should be promptly reduced or discontinued.

(3) Gastrointestinal reactions: May cause diarrhea and abdominal pain. It is recommended to take it after meals to alleviate symptoms. In severe cases, symptomatic treatment is necessary.

(4) Blood pressure impact: may lead to hypotension, and blood pressure changes should be monitored during medication, especially in elderly patients.

3. Medication for special populations

(1) Pregnant women: Animal experiments have shown embryotoxicity, and pregnant or potentially pregnant women should avoid using it.

(2) Breastfeeding period: Medication may be secreted into breast milk, it is recommended to stop breastfeeding during the medication period.

(3) Children: Safety and efficacy have not been established yet, and it is not recommended to use.

(4) Elderly people: physiological function decline, medication should be taken with caution starting from small doses.
