Naldemedine taboo population
Identifying taboo groups is the primary step in ensuring medication safety. The use of this product is strictly prohibited in the following three situations, and attention should be paid to the risk of combination with specific drugs.
1、 Absolute taboo group
Known or suspected intestinal obstruction: including mechanical intestinal obstruction, postoperative intestinal obstruction, or intestinal stenosis and obstruction caused by any reason. Natsumidine may increase gastrointestinal motility and can induce fatal complications such as intestinal perforation in obstructive conditions.
Allergy to any ingredients of this product: Individuals with a history of allergies (such as rash, urticaria, dyspnea, angioedema) are prohibited from using it.
2、 High risk and cautious use population
Severe liver and kidney dysfunction: It is not recommended for patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction to use it because drug metabolism and clearance are obstructed, which can easily lead to high blood drug concentrations and significantly increase the risk of adverse reactions.
3、 Taboos and risks of drug combination therapy
Avoid combination with potent CYP3A4 inducers such as rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, St. John's wort, etc. This type of medication can significantly reduce the blood concentration of nadir, which may lead to weakened or ineffective antagonistic effects against opioid induced constipation, affecting the therapeutic effect. If combination therapy is necessary, a doctor must fully evaluate and consider dosage adjustments or alternative options.
