The side effects and mitigation methods of Alectinib in the Laotian version of Lucius
Alectinib is a targeted therapy for ALK positive non-small cell lung cancer. Its common side effects include liver dysfunction, muscle pain, and photosensitivity, which require regular monitoring and targeted measures for management. The following will explain from two aspects: prevention of serious side effects and self relieving side effects.
1. Serious side effects requiring immediate medical attention
(1) Abnormal liver function: manifested as decreased appetite, nausea, upper right abdominal pain, or jaundice. Liver enzymes need to be monitored monthly, and medication should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought when symptoms appear.
(2) Interstitial lung disease: Newly developed cough, fever, or difficulty breathing require urgent evaluation, and suspected cases should be permanently discontinued from medication.
(3) Bradycardia: Regularly monitor heart rate. If dizziness, fainting, or palpitations occur, adjust dosage or discontinue medication.
2. Common side effects that can be self relieved
(1) Photogenic response: During treatment, it is necessary to wear protective clothing and use SPF50+sunscreen to avoid direct sunlight.
(2) Muscle pain: Mild muscle pain can be relieved by hot compress, but if accompanied by elevated creatine kinase, exercise should be paused.
(3) Digestive symptoms: Nausea and constipation can be improved by eating in portions and increasing dietary fiber. If they persist, medical attention is needed.
3. Protection for special populations
(1) Women of childbearing age: During treatment and 3 months after discontinuation of medication, efficient contraceptive measures should be taken.
(2) Liver dysfunction: For patients with moderate baseline impairment, the dose should be reduced to 450mg bid, and severe impairment should be avoided.
(3) Drug interactions: Avoid using strong CYP3A inducers (such as rifampicin) in combination, as it may reduce efficacy.
