Dienogest is a synthetic progesterone primarily used for the treatment of endometriosis and contraception. The dosage of the medication needs to be adjusted according to the indications, and special populations should pay attention to liver function monitoring, contraceptive requirements, and adverse reaction management.

1. Usage and dosage

(1) Endometriosis

Take 2mg orally daily for no more than 6 months of continuous use. It is recommended to take it at a fixed time to improve the stability of the therapeutic effect.

(2) Contraceptive use

1mg per day in the compound preparation should be used in conjunction with estrogen. If missed, it is necessary to supplement according to the instructions and take additional contraceptive measures.

2. Medication for special populations

(1) Pregnancy period

Disabled. Animal studies have shown embryotoxicity, and pregnancy status needs to be confirmed and contraceptive measures guided before treatment.

(2) Lactation period

Avoid using. Medications may be secreted into breast milk, affecting hormone levels in newborns.

(3) Liver function impairment

Mild damages require reduced monitoring; Prohibited for individuals with moderate to severe injuries. Check liver function every 3 months during treatment.

(4) Renal dysfunction

Mild to moderate dosage does not require adjustment; Severe lack of data, it is recommended to use with caution.

(5) Teenagers

The safety of patients under 18 years old has not been established, and it is not recommended for the treatment of endometriosis.

3. Precautions

(1) Adverse reactions

Common headaches, breast tenderness, etc. If severe depression or thrombotic symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped immediately.

(2) Drug interactions

CYP3A4 inducers may reduce efficacy, and combination therapy requires adjusting dosage and strengthening contraceptive measures.

(3) Monitoring requirements

Long term users need to regularly check for changes in blood lipids, breast and cervical cytology.
