Prostate DB (Cernilton) is a commonly used plant-based preparation for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. Its overall safety profile is good, but during treatment, attention should still be paid to allergic reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort, and drug interactions to ensure safe and effective medication use.

1. Allergic Reactions

1. Recognize Signs of Allergy

If rash, skin itching, erythema, urticaria, or swelling of the face or lips or difficulty breathing occurs after taking the medication, allergic reaction should be highly suspected. Severe cases may develop anaphylactic shock and require immediate medical attention.

2. Stop the Medication Immediately and Seek Medical Attention

Once allergy is suspected, stop Prostate DB immediately and go to the hospital with the drug packaging. It is contraindicated in those with a history of allergy to any component of this product, and should be used with caution in individuals with an allergic constitution.

3. Record and Inform

When seeking medical attention, inform the physician of the medication time, dose, and allergic manifestations to help determine causality. Before subsequent medical visits or medication use, proactively inform the physician of this allergy history to avoid re-exposure.

2. Gastrointestinal Discomfort

1. Common Manifestations

Some patients may experience nausea, stomach discomfort, abdominal bloating, decreased appetite, or mild diarrhea after taking the medication. These reactions are usually mild and are often related to taking the medication on an empty stomach or individual sensitivity.

2. Adjust the Administration Method

It is recommended to take with meals or after meals to reduce gastric irritation. Take with warm water, and avoid taking with strong tea, coffee, alcohol, or spicy foods. Eat a light diet and smaller meals more frequently.

3. When to Seek Medical Attention

If gastrointestinal symptoms persist and worsen, or if severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, black stools, or obvious weight loss occurs, suspend the medication and seek medical attention promptly to rule out gastrointestinal bleeding or other diseases.

3. Drug Interactions

1. Inform of All Medications

During medical visits, proactively inform the physician of all medications being used, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, herbal medicines, and dietary supplements, so that potential interactions can be assessed.

2. Use Other Prostate Medications with Caution

If used concurrently with alpha-blockers (such as tamsulosin) or 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors (such as finasteride), it should be done under the guidance of a physician. Avoid adding medications on your own to prevent increasing the risk of hypotension or sexual function-related adverse reactions.

3. Note Anticoagulants and Medications Affecting the Gastric Mucosa

If used concurrently with anticoagulants (such as warfarin) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, monitoring should be strengthened because the risk of bleeding or stomach discomfort may increase. The specific combination regimen should be evaluated and decided by a physician.
