Proper use of digotinib ointment requires attention to local irritation reactions, maintenance of skin barrier function, and understanding of the safety points of long-term use.

1. Response to local stimuli

1.1 First time users may experience mild burning, stinging, or erythema, which usually subsides with prolonged use of the medication.

If the stimulus response continues to worsen or there is obvious pain or blisters, the use should be suspended and a doctor should be consulted.

1.3 Avoid applying ointment to damaged, ulcerated, or severely keratinized skin areas to prevent further irritation.

2. Maintenance of skin barrier function

Before taking medication, apply a mild moisturizer (wait for 5-10 minutes for absorption before applying the ointment), which can help reduce dryness and flaking.

2.2 Avoid using external products containing irritating ingredients such as alcohol, fruit acids, or retinoids simultaneously.

2.3 During medication, pay attention to sun protection to avoid additional damage to the barrier function caused by ultraviolet rays.

3. Long term safety precautions

3.1 Currently, there is limited safety data for long-term continuous use (over 1 year), and it is recommended to have regular follow-up visits to evaluate efficacy and tolerability.

3.2 If the condition is stable, gradually reduce the frequency of medication according to the doctor's advice (such as changing to once a day or several times a week), to avoid sudden cessation of medication causing the condition to rebound.

During long-term medication, it is necessary to closely observe whether there is skin thinning, atrophy, pigmentation changes, or new rash at the medication site.

3.4 If other topical medications are used simultaneously, they should be applied at least 2 hours apart from digotinib.
