Dotinurad is an oral uric acid lowering medication, and correct administration should follow the principles of dose titration and meal coordination to ensure efficacy and safety. The following are brief guidelines for taking medication.

1、 Basic medication requirements

Once a day, it is recommended to take it at a fixed time.

Can be taken with meals or on an empty stomach, unaffected by food.

Swallow the whole piece, do not chew or crush it.

2、 Initial dose and titration plan

Initial dose: 0.5mg per day.

Titration upregulation: Adjust every 2-4 weeks based on blood uric acid levels.

Regular maintenance dose: 1-2mg per day.

Maximum recommended dose: 2mg per day, not exceeding this limit.

During titration: Observe for at least 2 weeks after each adjustment before evaluating whether to continue upregulation.

3、 Precautions for dose adjustment

For patients with renal insufficiency: eGFR<30mL/min/1.73m ² is not recommended for use; Mild to moderate dosage adjustment is not necessary, but titration should be more cautious.

Patients with liver dysfunction: mild to moderate damage does not require dose adjustment; Lack of information on severe damage, use with caution.

During the acute attack phase of gout, there is no need to interrupt treatment, but it is more secure to resume treatment after the acute attack has been controlled.

Omission treatment: If you forget to take the medication on the same day, skip it when it is close to the next medication time, and take the original dose the next day. Do not take double the dose.

4、 Combination therapy tips

When combined with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or colchicine to prevent early gout attacks, use according to their respective instructions.

When combined with other uric acid lowering drugs such as allopurinol and febuxostat, it is necessary to closely monitor uric acid levels to avoid a rapid decrease.
