Avapritinib Usage Guidelines
Proper use of Avapritinib is the foundation for ensuring efficacy and safety. Patients need to strictly follow key regulations such as taking medication on an empty stomach, adjusting dosage, and handling missed doses to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.
1、 Standard administration method
1. Take on an empty stomach
Take medication at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
It is recommended to take the pill with a whole cup of water and not crush or chew it.
2. Fixed time
Take medication at the same time every day to maintain a stable blood drug concentration.
2、 Principle of dose adjustment
1. Led by doctors
All dose adjustments (increase, decrease or pause) must be carried out in accordance with medical advice and cannot be changed by oneself.
2. Common reasons for adjustments
When serious or intolerable adverse reactions occur (such as edema, cognitive impairment, bone marrow suppression), doctors may suspend medication or reduce dosage.
After recovery, treatment may be restarted at a lower dose.
3、 Handling of missed services
1. Determination of missed service time
If the missed dose time is ≤ 8 hours: immediately supplement the dose and take the next dose as usual.
If the missed dose exceeds 8 hours: skip the missed dose and take the next dose according to the original plan.
2. Double dose is strictly prohibited
Do not double the dosage during the next medication to avoid increasing the risk of toxicity.
3. Post vomiting treatment
If vomiting occurs after taking medication, do not take additional medication and wait until the next regular medication time before taking it.
Important reminder: During medication, avoid taking grapefruit or grapefruit juice together as it may affect drug metabolism. All medication adjustments must be fully communicated with the medical team and should not be made independently.
