Lifnua (Jifapisheng tablets): a new choice for anti fibrotic treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
Lifnua, a novel anti fibrotic drug, is mainly used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and improve patients' lung function by inhibiting the fibrosis process. Its mechanism of action is unique, and clinical studies have shown that it can delay disease progression, providing new treatment options for IPF patients.
1. Drug Overview
Jifapisheng tablets are approved oral anti fibrotic drugs in recent years, targeting and regulating key fibrotic pathways. As a second-line treatment option for IPF, its efficacy and safety have been validated in clinical trials, providing an alternative solution for patients with poor efficacy of traditional drugs such as pirfenidone.
2 Indications
(1) Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)
Suitable for long-term treatment of adult IPF patients, especially for patients with moderate disease progression, the effect is significant. Its indications are similar to pirfenidone, but its target of action is different.
3 mechanisms of action
(1) Anti fibrotic effect
By selectively inhibiting the transforming growth factor - β (TGF - β) signaling pathway, collagen deposition and myofibroblast activation are reduced.
(2) Anti inflammatory regulation
Downregulate the expression of pro-inflammatory factors such as IL-6 and TNF - α, and alleviate the inflammatory microenvironment in the lungs.
4 Usage and Dosage
(1) Standard dose
The recommended starting dose is 200mg orally once daily, which can be increased to 400mg daily based on tolerance. It should be taken with meals to improve bioavailability.
(2) Dose adjustment
Patients with liver dysfunction should reduce their dosage by 50%, and it is not recommended for those with severe renal impairment. Elderly patients do not need to adjust their dosage.
Medication for 5 special populations
(1) Pregnancy and lactation period
Animal studies have shown embryotoxicity and are contraindicated during pregnancy. Breastfeeding should be suspended during lactation medication.
(2) Children's medication
Insufficient safety data for patients under 18 years old, not recommended for use.
6 drug comparisons
(1) Comparison with traditional medicines
Compared to the three times daily administration of pirfenidone, the 1-2 times daily dosing regimen of gefapisheng tablets is more convenient.
(2) Differences from Nidanibu
Nidanib mainly targets the angiogenesis pathway, while geffapisheng tablets focus on regulating the TGF - β pathway, and the two can complement each other.
