Fudaiwen (valsartan hydrochlorothiazide tablets) achieves multi pathway blood pressure reduction through the synergistic effect of ARB and diuretics. Valsartan blocks angiotensin II receptors to reduce vascular constriction, while hydrochlorothiazide promotes sodium excretion and reduces blood volume. The combination of the two can enhance blood pressure reduction and reduce the need for monotherapy.

1. ARB mechanism (valsartan)

(1) Selective blockade of AT1 receptor: inhibits vascular constriction caused by angiotensin II and reduces peripheral resistance.

(2) Reduce aldosterone secretion: reduce sodium retention and potassium excretion, and improve electrolyte disorder caused by diuretics.

2. Diuretic mechanism (Hydrochlorothiazide)

(1) Inhibiting Na Cl co transporters in distal tubules: increasing sodium, chloride, and water excretion, reducing blood volume.

(2) Activation of RAAS system: Long term use may cause compensatory vasoconstriction, which is blocked by ARB.

3. Synergistic effect

(1) Complementary antihypertensive pathways: ARB mainly reduces peripheral resistance, while diuretics mainly reduce volume load.

(2) Mutually offsetting side effects: Valsartan can alleviate hypokalemia and RAAS activation caused by hydrochlorothiazide.

(3) Extended action time: Hydrochlorothiazide has a short half-life (6-15 hours), while valsartan (6-9 hours) can maintain its antihypertensive effect.

4. Clinical advantages

(1) Improvement in blood pressure control rate: Combination therapy has a 20-30% higher compliance rate than monotherapy.

(2) Target organ protection: Valsartan can alleviate left ventricular hypertrophy, while hydrochlorothiazide reduces the risk of heart failure.
