Indications and medication precautions of Bayer's Androcur (cyproterone acetate tablets) in Germany
Androcur acetate tablets are an anti androgen drug mainly used to treat androgen dependent diseases. The medication should strictly follow the indications and pay attention to cardiovascular, liver function and other risk monitoring. The dosage should be adjusted for special populations.
1. Indications
(1) Male prostate cancer: used for palliative treatment of advanced prostate cancer, delaying tumor progression by inhibiting androgen action.
(2) Female androgen dependent diseases: Treatment for severe acne (accompanied by seborrhea or inflammation), hair loss, and hirsutism should exclude tumor factors before use.
(3) Precocious puberty: Used to control the symptoms of precocious puberty in male children, it needs to be accompanied by growth monitoring.
2. Medication precautions
(1) Cardiovascular risk: may cause thromboembolism. Patients with hypertension need to monitor their blood pressure regularly and stop medication immediately if they experience chest pain.
(2) Liver function monitoring: Check liver function before treatment and every 6 months. Discontinue medication if jaundice occurs, and do not use for patients with cirrhosis.

3. Medication for special populations
(1) Children: Indications for precocious puberty only, dosage should be strictly adjusted according to body weight and bone age development should be monitored.
