Lemboraxant is a novel dual orexin receptor antagonist primarily used to treat adult insomnia, particularly targeting symptoms of difficulty falling asleep and maintaining sleep. This drug regulates wakefulness signals through a unique mechanism and has been clinically shown to effectively improve sleep quality. After being approved by the FDA in 2019, it has been launched in multiple countries and will enter the Chinese market in 2025.

(1) Insomnia treatment: suitable for adult patients with sleep disorders characterized by difficulty falling asleep or frequent awakenings at night, which can help establish normal sleep rhythms.

2. Evaluation of treatment efficacy

(1) Mechanism of action: By competitively binding to OX1R/OX2R receptors, appetite suppressant neurotransmission is inhibited, awakening signals are reduced, sleep onset is promoted, and sleep duration is prolonged.

(2) Clinical advantages: Compared to traditional sleeping pills, it has more precise sleep regulation functions, does not rely on the GABA system, and reduces side effects such as drowsiness the next day.

3 Drug Characteristics

(1) Dosage specifications: Available in three doses: 2.5mg, 5mg, and 10mg. The film coated tablet dosage form is easy to identify and take.

(2) Effective time: It usually takes effect quickly after taking the medication, maintains overnight sleep, and has lower residual effects the next day.

4 Precautions for use

(1) Safety: May cause adverse reactions such as daytime sleepiness and complex sleep behavior, and should be strictly used according to medical advice.
