How effective is Dificid
Dificid has significant therapeutic effects on Clostridium difficile infection (CDI), as it exerts antibacterial effects by specifically inhibiting bacterial RNA synthesis. The clinical cure rate is 85% -90%, and the recurrence rate is lower than traditional treatment regimens.
1 Clinical efficacy data
(1) Comparison of cure rates: In phase III clinical trials, the clinical cure rate of a 10 day course of non fungicide was 88.2%, comparable to vancomycin (87.7%), but significantly reduced the recurrence rate (15.4% vs 25.3%).
(2) Microbial eradication: Fecal testing showed a negative conversion rate of 92% for Clostridium difficile toxin within 72 hours after medication, significantly faster than other antibiotics.
2. Advantages of Mechanism of Action
(1) Targeted antibacterial: By selectively inhibiting the RNA polymerase of Clostridium difficile, it does not affect the normal gut microbiota and maintains microbial ecological balance.
(2) Concentration dependence: The drug maintains a high concentration in the colon cavity, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC90) of only 0.125 μ g/mL.
3 Special Population Effects
(1) Elderly patients: The cure rate for individuals aged 65 and above remains above 85%, without increasing the risk of adverse reactions.
(2) Severe CDI: The effective rate for fulminant colitis is still 76%, which can be used as an alternative to vancomycin.
4. Treatment Failure Handling
(1) Rare drug resistance: Currently, the global drug resistance rate is less than 0.5%, and treatment failure is often related to host factors.
(2) Recurrent cases: Repeated medication is still effective for the first recurrence, and it is recommended to use fecal microbiota transplantation combined with treatment for the second recurrence.
