The side effects of Selpercatinib can be divided into severe reactions that require urgent treatment and common reactions that can be self relieved. Its prevention requires a combination of regular monitoring and symptomatic intervention.

1. Serious side effects requiring immediate medical attention

(1) Liver toxicity: When there is clay colored stool, dark urine, or jaundice, the medication should be stopped immediately and liver function should be monitored.

(2) Cardiovascular events: Chest pain, arrhythmia, or fainting may indicate QT interval prolongation and require electrocardiographic monitoring.

(3) Pulmonary symptoms: newly developed dyspnea or worsening cough require screening for the risk of interstitial lung disease.

2. Common side effects that may self alleviate

(1) Digestive system: Dry mouth and decreased appetite can be alleviated through small meals and oral care.
